Sir how to work on our personality and as you said in an interview that upsc covers everything under the sun and one should be inquisitive about anything and everything. But there is so much to study. So can you please write a post on the online sources or websites or informative youtube channels or anything that you would recommend that will help us to know more about things that can't be learnt from the books and help us in expanding our horizon of understanding about different things. Waiting for a positive response. Thanks!

OMG! when I read The Great Indian novel, I laughed aloud at first but then a Fear at missing out on my values arrived, as all my childhood notions, devotions to Bhishma & all others devotional characters of Mahabharata started having cracks, I stopped midway.
But now(after 2 years) the same emotions, devotion for a place got in danger with 'Lesbian' word, but now I am mature enough to laugh & laugh without fearing about anything.😂
Chapter 1 of "Moh Maya Mahe", titled "Cloud", introduces a reflective narrative that ties the ethereal nature of clouds to the characters' inner emotional journeys. The chapter beautifully captures the contrast between fleeting moments of peace and the ever-present undercurrents of conflict, using clouds as a symbol of transience and transformation. The poetic writing style engages readers through vivid imagery, offering deep philosophical insights.
'Brevity is the soul of wit,' they say. UPSC loves brevity. And if you can pour a little wit in it, their day is made. Before we delve into the ESSAY paper for Civil Services Exam, I would just like to point out that this article is going to be brief. I won't really instruct or implore you to follow any guidelines or apply any 'tips and tricks', my dear friend. *Because essay is a matter of the heart and mind. And every pair is as beautiful and insightful. So we'll talk about the 'soul' instead. (*Note: never start a sentence with 'because'- a teacher once told me.) (**Also note: question all advice- nothing is sacred. THIS PAPER gives you room to experiment.) I scored 161 Marks in Essay this year. Although I respect the fact that without these marks my rank would've been 'not-so-good', yet I view it as a considerably minor issue when compared to the amount of fun I had while writing those 2 essays. (Or in fact most o...
These notes were made by me for Value addition to Mains answer-writing. They are arranged in the order of 'factual nuggets' or 'keywords' that can be sprinkled in your answer to either fight the mental block that we usually face while writing GS answers or just basically enhance the quality and uniqueness of the answers. Some parts like Cases, Laws, Vocab are such that they can fit anywhere in answers related to various themes. I hope you find these useful. Best wishes, V.G. List: 1. Here I present to you the result of my efforts at making notes for Mains 2018. They are quite crisp and laden with Keywords. I have treated all GS papers as one comprehensive paper. Also, I have adopted a strictly 'One issue, One page' policy to enhance the effectiveness of answer writing. Apologies in advance if you find them unorganized or don't like my handwriting (or both). But well, that's how dynamic things are nowadays. What to do, dear friend? What to do! Best wishes, V.G. There is an INDEX attached below- to scroll to specific topics.
