'A ROYAL INSCRIPTION' by Vikram Grewal 'Haraf'

'A ROYAL INSCRIPTION'

There's a time to be the potter,

And a time to be clay.

Sometimes you are the writer,

Sometimes you are the play.

The pot you mould,

The play you sold-

Are bits of soul

Within your fold.

When the pot breaks in

And the stage breaks down

Paper makes the carpet

Clay makes the crown.

I’ve started writing blogs, inspired by your wonderfully chaotic style. I hope you would review it.

This was a good one VG (far better than that chomu 'Sir Amrit' wala). But, I think by the end of the poem, it lost the rhythm, especially the last two lines. I face this problem a lot. We start with a good premise, engine would run till the middle and ends abruptly -- we call it the end.

And also the use of 'break in' in the first line of last paragraph is bit choppy. Of course, it makes sense in terms of the meaning, but lacks poetic touch for the essence.
